Your Digicel SIM card enables you to make and receive voice calls. The price you are charged depends on the plan you have opted for. For details on the different plans available, click here.
It is important to note that the call rates change for local and international calls. To check how you have been charged for your voice calls, click here.
There are a few things you may want to consider when disputing your voice call charges:
1. You are charged differently depending on the location you are calling. For example:
John calls his friend Tim who is in Guyana, and spends 5 minutes talking to him. He then calls his girlfriend Jenifer who is in the USA, and spends 5 minutes talking to her also.
The call to Tim cost $1 per minute. Therefore, John spent 5 x $1 = $5
The call to Jenifer cost $2 per minute, meaning the call cost 5 X $2 = $10
2. You are charged differently depending on the time you are calling. This is only applicable for international calls. There are two periods Peak (6:00am -6:00pm) and Off Peak (6:00pm and 6:00am). For example:
John calls his friend Tim who is in the USA at 7:00am, and spends 5 minutes talking to him. He then calls his girlfriend Jenifer who is also in the USA at 8:00pm, and spends 5 minutes talking to her also.
The call to Tim cost $3 per minute. Therefore, John spent 5 x $3 = $15
The call to Jenifer cost $2 per minute, meaning the call cost 5 X $2 = $10
3. If you are making a call and notice that the call only lasts a few seconds, this may be because there there was insufficient credit on your account to complete the call. Digicel operates on a per second basis, so if you have $7.00 credit, and the call costs $10.49 per minute, the call will still go through, but it will be less than a minute.
